Most girls dream big when they’re young. I was no different- I was sure I going to
have it ALL (the home, the husband, the kids, the dog, the career) and look
good while doing it. The reality of
adulthood is things never turn out quite like we plan. But I’m so grateful for the life I’ve been
given, a huge portion of which involves being the best Mrs. Jones I can be.
I've been teaching for over a decade at the most amazing little
school in my hometown. Currently I teach 4th grade AIG, and all my
experience has been in upper elementary except for the year of substitute
teaching when I quit after my first year teaching (that’s another story). I truly love my job and feel so blessed to
know it’s so much more than just a job.
When I’m not teaching, I’m spending time with Mr. Jones and
loving on our dog. We watch Jeopardy
every night, play nerdy board games, and cheer on our favorite college sports
team (go Wake Forest!). We work with the
youth group at our church and weekends we aren’t busy with that you can often find us
in the mountains or at the beach—we love to travel anywhere!
I love books (especially children’s books) and have been
reminded through blogging the last couple of years that I also love to
write. I started out blogging at onlyletuslive.blogspot.com, and occasionally I revert back to non-school talk here as well. I look forward to sharing my school (and other) adventures
with you here. Thanks for stopping by!
